Platform

A cancer biomarker platform that reads tumour chemistry

Digistain is a pan-tumour, vendor-neutral cancer biomarker platform. It measures the tumour’s biochemistry directly from routine tissue, and each product applies that measurement to a specific clinical question.

What it measures

Chemistry that reflects chromosomal instability

Mid-infrared spectroscopy measures chemical moieties such as phosphate and amide in unstained tissue sections. From these, the Digistain Index gives the nuclear-to-cytoplasmic chemical ratio, which reflects aneuploidy: the chromosomal instability associated with aggressive tumours.

How it is delivered

Run locally, or through our laboratory

Hospitals and laboratories can run the test and issue results themselves, or use Digistain’s laboratory service.

The published method uses an inexpensive spectrometer and no costly reagents (Coombes et al., 2024).
